Isaac is the amazing creator of one-of-a-kind pieces like this wonderful Thunderbird bolo tie, which features turquoise, jet, apple coral and mother of pearl, all of which have been overlaid on a carved slab of abalone. The bolo tie, including the silver tips, measures 44” in length, and the thunderbird bolo measures 2 3/4” in length and 1 7/8” in width.

Isaac Coriz is a very talented Kewa artist in the traditional and modern day styles of heishi, mosaic inlay, silversmithing and link working.  When Isaac was young he would watch his mother, Mary Coriz Lovato, create eye catching pieces of mosaic work, his grandmother, Lupita Coriz would teach him the art of making heishi beads.  His grandfather, Santiago Leo Coriz, would be Isaac’s teacher in the art of silversmithing and creating link chains and bracelets. Isaac has lived his whole life in Santo Domingo Pueblo.
